I guess it isn’t enough for Lakers defensive specialist Ron Artest to simply lose weight so that he can be more effective on defense. I guess he needed that extra something special, and today we found out what that would be, as Artest sported a Rodman-esque blond hair do.
But wait, there’s more! In addition to the blond makeover, Ron, himself no stranger to glyphs on his head, decided to spell “defense” on his head, and in three languages no less. Unfortunately, his Lakers teammates couldn’t read what he had written on his scalp, and the Lakers fell to the Magic by two points. With the game tied and seconds left in the game, defense was nowhere to be found as the Magic instead found themselves on the free throw line, sinking both to achieve what would be the margin of victory.
But the Lakers had one more opportunity, but this time, King Kobe couldn’t deliver. So, a sad debut for the Ron Artest Hair makeover. It appears defense, defense, defense didn’t, didn’t, didn’t happen, and the Lakers drop their third game in a row.
Perhaps the Lakers should drop the antics and play defense; after all, this is the NBA and not the spelling bee.
